Teacher-Led School Redesign

Teachers at Cleveland Elementary School are redesigning their school classroom by classroom, from the bottom up.

Teachers are piloting student goal-setting and monitoring, personal learner profiles for every student, and flexible student groupings based on learner need. Leadership regularly checks on how well these pilots are going using a short-cycle design approach so they can fail fast and learn quickly.

More About Cleveland

All teachers perform self-assessments in their focus areas of school culture, student agency, and using data effectively, tracking their professional growth across the year.

Leadership regularly assesses the effectiveness of these strategies using a short-cycle design approach to allow themselves to fail fast and learn quickly.
