This Thursday, April 22, the three teams from our 2020-2021 Design Residency: Ventures program will showcase their ventures to a virtual panel of community and funder evaluators. Afterward, we will host a 30-minute meet-and-greet for guests to ask questions and learn more about these emerging education solutions. If you haven’t already, register here.

We are partnering with schools to provide high-impact tutoring. As part of CityTutor DC, we are running Design Sprints with schools across DC to help them integrate high-impact tutoring into the school day. In our first Sprint, we partnered with 14 DC schools to help provide high-impact tutoring to over 1,000 students. Check out our inaugural Design Sprinters.

Our programming continues to grow.

We kicked off our spring Design Fellowship with 33 educators and entrepreneurs committed to creating a more equitable and excellent education system. Over the next four months, we will be designing, testing, and scaling solutions to DC’s most pressing educational challenges. Learn more about Design Fellowship.

We showcased a local learning hub built on community partnerships.

On February 16, we virtually toured GOODProjects’ learning hub—a space engaging students in Southwest DC’s Greenleaf community with remote learning and ensuring their needs are met during the pandemic. GOODProjects’ co-founder and key partners shared their perspectives and experiences in launching an innovative, equity-centered initiative with—not just for—the community. Check out the recording.

Our incubated schools are reaching key milestones.

Capital Experience Lab (CapX) and Wildflower Schools, two of the schools in our Incubator, submitted their school charter applications to the DC Public Charter School Board in January.
