Rena Johnson is a Partner for School Redesign on the School Creation and Transformation team at CityBridge Education, where she supports school leaders and teams in realizing their redesign vision. Before joining the CityBridge team, Rena was a DC Public Schools principal. She led the longest-standing DCPS and charter partnership school, DC Scholars Stanton Elementary, to national recognition for meaningfully engaging families through authentic relationship building.
Rena taught 2nd and 3rd grade in Atlanta, Georgia. Following her classroom teaching she worked for Teach For America, D.C. Region as the Manager of District Strategy and served as a Resident Principal with New Leaders For New Schools. She holds a B.A. in History from the University of Virginia and an Ed.M in Education Policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
