Bethanie would describe herself as “obsessed with education.” After attending a Teach For America recruitment event her third week of college, she knew education was her calling.
Bethanie earned her B.A. in secondary education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and went on to join Teach For America as a 2011 Kansas City corps member, where she taught middle school English. In addition to her classroom experience, Bethanie has worked on the Teach For America–D.C. Region development team, and she spent a year working in the field of education in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Bethanie returned to the District in August of 2015 and joined CityBridge as a program manager on the Stewardship and Engagement team. In this role, she plans and executes content-rich events for leaders in the business and philanthropic communities to learn about and engage with public education initiatives. Bethanie also works closely with CityBridge leadership to raise support for Breakthrough Schools: D.C.
